    In addition to 28+ years in the school system, I've been tutoring students in writing and language arts for decades. I started College Knowledge with Jenna Rose over six years ago because I wanted to bring that same individualized support to the college application process. My goal is to help students find the right school, not just one they get into, but one where they’ll belong, thrive, and succeed.

    Throughout the college application journey and really, in life, I’ve learned that doing things you love can make a profound difference in your happiness and success. In my free time, I love organizing events (I have a knack for creating beautiful decorations and paying attention to the little details), practicing pilates, and spending time with my family. I’m also very happy with a warm cup of tea in hand, while taking a walk along the beaches of Connecticut.

    Experienced Educator

    I’ve spent 28 years helping students grow as readers, writers, and thinkers and I’ve learned that every student’s path is unique. I hold a Bachelor’s degree from Fairfield University, along with two Master’s degrees in Education and Writing, and over 100 additional graduate credits in TESOL, Inclusive Education, and Executive Functioning.

    My work combines the expertise of an educator with the empathy of a mentor. Together, we’ll build a plan that helps students reach their goals and feel supported every step of the way.

    Schools where students will thrive academically, socially, and personally and where cost is manageable for their families.

    This process can feel daunting but no one has to go through it alone. I aim to reduce anxiety and make each step feel doable.

    Elevate student voices through writing

    I help students write essays that reveal who they are, what matters to them, and how they’ll contribute to their future campus communities.

    College & Graduate School Advising

    I guide students through every step of the application journey from early planning to final decisions. Services include:

    • Personalized college list development
    • Application strategy (EA/ED, test optional, etc.)
    • Resume and LinkedIn creation
    • College visit planning and interview prep
    • Common App and supplemental essay guidance
    • Scholarship and financial aid resources (FAFSA, CSS Profile)
    • A custom college timeline to keep everything on track

    For comprehensive advising students, I’m available beyond scheduled sessions by text, phone, or email whenever questions arise. For younger students, I also provide guidance on course choices, extracurriculars, and summer opportunities.

    Application Essay Assistance

    The college essay is a student’s chance to tell their story authentically and powerfully.

    I work one-on-one to brainstorm, edit, and polish essays that sound like them — confident, clear, and compelling. Essay support includes:

    • Common App Personal Statement
    • UC Personal Insight Questions
    • Supplemental Essays
    • Transfer Essays

    Before we begin, I ask for a short writing sample to estimate time needed. Most students complete all essays within 10 hours over about a month — the process is efficient, supportive, and tailored to each student’s schedule.
